You’ll be picked up from Luxor airport early in the morning to make your trip to Cairo. As soon as you arrive in Cairo, you’ll start a private tour of the city led by an expert Egyptologist, who will take you on a daylong tour of Egypt’s top sights, beginning with the Giza Plateau to see the three pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Menkaure, watched over by the mysterious rock statue known as “The Sphinx.” Although it is older by two millennia than any of the other seven marvels of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid of King Cheops is the only one that has survived to the present day. ‎

Afterward, you’ll head to the Egyptian Museum, which first opened its doors in 1902, to continue your educational journey through time. It displays a vast array of artifacts and treasures (about 120,000 masterpieces) from the ancient Egyptian and Greco-Roman periods, such as the incredible collection of the child king Tut Ankh Amon.

The tour continues with a visit to Khan el Khalili Bazaar, one of Cairo’s most well-known landmarks, after a stroll through “Islamic Cairo,” a district known for its thousand-year-old “el Moez” street, an open-air museum filled with fantastic Islamic buildings painted in a wide variety of styles. The Khan el Khalili neighborhood was once a mausoleum for the burial of Fatimid Caliphs (known as el Zaafran), then a district for the Turkish community during the Ottoman period, and today a bazaar with numerous souvenir shops, cafes serving Arabic coffee and hookah (also known as shisha), and restaurants. ‎

Upon completing your fantastic Cairo tour, you will be driven to the airport for your journey back to Luxor.
