Islands in the Nile, Aswan
Spreading from the north of the High Dam, spreading to the administrative borders of the governorate with Qena Governorate, the Aswan Islands are divided into three types:
First: the rocky islands: the pure and absolute islands extending in the region from the High Dam to the Aswan Reservoir. These islands are:
Al-Hisa Island: The largest of all the waterfall islands, “80” acres, is located on the southwest.
Awad Island: 40 acres, located directly north of Al-Hasa and directly south of the reservoir.
Beja Island: It is located to the northeast of Hesa Island and covers about 25 acres.
Agilka Island: It is located north of Beja and east of Awad Island.
Shash Island: It is located in the far north and is very small
Philae Island: in the far east.
Kvoso Island: It is a group of rocks located north of Philae Island (and the former islands are all Grantina islands), and it is the only rocky island in all of the Egyptian Nile.
Second: The mixed islands: they have a granite origin with sedimentary formations, and they are islands that extend north of the Aswan reservoir in the south and end at Al-Atrun Island “Al-Nabata” in the north, meaning that these islands start from the reservoir and end with the island of Plants and its most important islands:
