Itinerary

Day 01:  Aswan Highlights
Our expert Egyptologist will drive you to Aswan in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle in the early morning. The trip takes about three and a half hours. When you get to Aswan, your tour guide will take you to see the High Dam, one of the 20th century’s greatest engineering feats and a symbol of Aswan’s importance. It has eighteen times as many building blocks as in Cheops’s pyramid. It protects Egypt from the potentially devastating effects of Nile River flooding while supplying the country with water and electricity.

Then you’ll visit Philae by felucca to see the Temple of Isis, whose construction was begun under Ptolemy II and finished under the Roman emperors. And it was all in honor of Isis, the goddess who was both the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus. After that, you’ll be taken to an Aswan hotel for the night. ‎

Day 02: Visit to Abu Simbel
You will depart your accommodation at 3:30 am to join a convoy “Starts at 4.00 am” headed to Abu Simbel, where you will see the Great and Small Temples, respectively, dedicated to King Ramses II and Queen Nefertari. The scenic location of this temple, high above the Nile River’s rocky banks, is undoubtedly its most striking feature.

The area from Abu Simbel downstream to Philae is a UNESCO World Heritage Site called the “Nubian Monuments” (near Aswan). On the 22nd of October and the 22nd of February, the sun is supposed to have entered the sanctuary and illuminated the sculptures on the back wall, except the statue of Ptah, the god associated with the Underworld, who was always left in the dark. This is supposedly the king’s birthday, and the day he was crowned. ‎

Then, our representative will take you back to your hotel.
